Affordable Housing: Local Workforce

The Tilden Community Alliance has been awarded funds from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development to assist with completing housing projects in Tilden that will provide housing to our community's workforce.  The TCA received $200,000 that was then matched with $50,000 from the city's economic development program to create a housing revolving loan fund of $250,000.  The funds are available as shorter term, lower interest construction loans intended to provide builders a bridge from the beginning construction phase to occupancy.  Projects can be new construction, rehabilitation, and can provide single family or multi-family homes for sale or rent.   Single family homes cannot be sold for more than $325,000 and rental units cannot cost more than $250,000 to build.

Applications will be received on a rolling basis.  The project review committee consists of members of the TCA and one member of the City Council. The committee meets the second Tuesday of the month as needed. Interested applicants must submit a completed application package no later than the first business day of the month to have the application reviewed in that month.
