Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership (NENCAP), Inc.

This is a private, non-profit corporation that operates under the laws of the State of Nebraska. Its headquarters are located in Pender, Nebraska. NENCAP's primary mission is to provide assistance and support to an income-eligible population residing in a 14-county area of Northeast Nebraska. This service area includes counties such as Antelope and Madison. 

 

The physical address of Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership is 603 Earl St, Pender, NE. This location serves as a central hub for NENCAP's operations and acts as a base from which they deliver various programs and services to the community. 

 

As a community action partnership, NENCAP focuses on addressing the needs and improving the quality of life for individuals and families facing economic hardships. Food Security

The Antelope County Food Pantry

Located at 501 Main (Old Courthouse) in Neligh, NE, this is a service provided by Antelope County Health and Human Services. The pantry serves individuals and families who meet the eligibility criteria of need and residency in Antelope County. 

 

The Antelope County Food Pantry aims to alleviate food insecurity and provide temporary relief for individuals and families facing difficult circumstances. The pantry operates with the understanding that access to nutritious food is essential for the overall well-being and health of community members. 

 

Commodity Supplemental Food Program:

The food and nutrition services in the region encompass several programs aimed at ensuring access to healthy and nutritious food for individuals and families in need. Food pantries, located in Creighton, Norfolk, South Sioux City, and Pender, play a vital role in providing immediate food assistance to individuals and families. These pantries offer up to one week's supply of food, based on the size of the household. Eligible clients can access the pantry services four times per year, once per quarter.

Housing Assistance 

Nebraska Homeless Assistance Program (NHAP)

This program designed to provide support to individuals and families facing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. The program offers financial assistance for rental or utility expenses, providing aid for up to two months. By combining financial assistance with case management, the NHAP Rent & Utility Assistance program aims to provide a comprehensive approach to homelessness prevention and housing stability, empowering individuals and families to overcome their challenges and work towards a more secure and sustainable future.

Health

Immunization Program

The Immunization Program is a comprehensive initiative that aims to promote public health by providing access to a wide range of vaccines to both adults and children. This program follows the recommended immunization schedule outlined by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). 

 
By providing access to vaccines, regardless of insurance status, the Immunization Program promotes equity and ensures that individuals and families can protect themselves and their communities from vaccine-preventable diseases. The program's efforts align with broader public health goals of reducing the incidence of vaccine-preventable illnesses and fostering a healthier and more resilient population. 

 

The Healthy Families Program

is a valuable resource that offers free one-on-one health and parenting education, as well as referrals, to families. This program aims to support and empower families by providing them with essential knowledge and guidance on various health and parenting topics. 

 

In addition to the educational component, the program also offers valuable referrals to other services and resources that may be beneficial to families. These referrals can range from healthcare providers and support groups to community programs and social services, depending on the individual needs of each family.
