Festival on the Prairie: July 28,29,30

Mark your calendars and join us for Prairie Days 2023, Tilden's annual celebration of heritage and community. You are invited to participate by volunteering your time and talents or by joining us the weekend of the event to help celebrate our community. Volunteers dedicate their time and creativity to transform the town into a festival on the prairie. ​

 

Activities include a parade showcasing local businesses and community groups. The annual floral display contest, where the nature's beauty takes center stage and participants compete for bragging rights as the Best of Show. Evenings come alive with music performances for everyone to enjoy.The antique shows will transport you back in time, offering a glimpse into the rich history of the prairie and its treasures. For the craft enthusiasts, the quilt shows will be a delight, featuring intricate designs and skilled craftsmanship. And, if you're up for some real fun, don't forget to join the volleyball tournament, where teams battle it out in the mud. 

 

Prairie Days has a history that began with a vision to showcase the beauty of the prairie. The event emerged from the collaboration of passionate individuals who secured a grant to host the renowned Smithsonian exhibit, Listening to the Prairie - Farming in Nature's Image. This exhibit inspired the birth of Prairie Days, a community-wide celebration that has been captivating hearts since 2004.​
