Creating Opportunities for Tilden Area Businesses
Introducing Business Technical and Financial Assistance

In the 2022 general election, Tilden voters demonstrated their support for local economic growth by approving a Local Option Municipal Sales Tax that is funded by a city sales tax. This program is commonly referred to as LB 840. This tax has been specifically designated to support our business community with several resources, one of which is providing loans to small businesses in our area. In order to effectively manage these funds, the city has established a loan review committee and implemented a streamlined loan application process.

Since April of this year, the fund has been steadily accumulating revenue, with sales tax collections ranging from approximately $3,000 to $5,000 per month. This consistent influx of funds ensures the availability of financial resources for qualified applicants seeking to start or expand their businesses.

We are also pleased to announce that our city has been awarded a significant grant of $95,000 from the USDA Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG). This generous grant will serve as a valuable supplement to our existing revolving loan fund, further enhancing our capacity to support local entrepreneurs and stimulate economic development.

If you are interested in applying for a loan, we encourage you to submit your application  for consideration. For a smooth application process, please submit your completed application and all necessary documents to Bobbi Pettit at FIVE RULE Rural Planning via email at Bobbi@FiveRulePlanning.com. The Tilden Economic Development Plan Loan Review Committee convenes on the second Tuesday of each month, as needed. To ensure consideration, kindly submit all required documents before the first business day of the month. Please note that incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

For any inquiries or additional information, you may reach out to Bobbi Pettit directly at Bobbi@FiveRulePlanning.com or 308.455.3528.
