School Expansion and Renovation Project

In July 2016, a $17.2 million bond referendum was passed to fund the expansion and renovation of Elkhorn Valley Public School. Nebraska firm Clark & Enersen was hired to do the work based on their solid reputation and commitment to collaboration and excellence in design.  The Clark & Enerson profession team worked closely with administration, board members, staff, and patrons worked together to craft the vision and bring it to life.

To make way for the new facility, the existing high school and two pre-engineered temporary structures were demolished. The new building, spanning 63,000 square feet on the first level and 16,000 square feet on the second level, was carefully designed in collaboration. It features state-of-the-art amenities, including modern administrative offices, a secured entry, a teacher/break room, and expanded classrooms dedicated to science, art, health, and agriculture programs.

In addition to the high school, we also made renovations to the elementary building constructed in 1986. These renovations included the installation of a fire sprinkler system and air conditioning in the gymnasium. We also added a pre-K and kindergarten classroom to enhance our early education offerings. Other notable additions to our facilities include a dedicated classroom and shop area for our IT program, general purpose classrooms for core curriculum subjects, and a new and expanded media center with a makerspace.

To support our athletic programs, a competition gymnasium, complete with locker rooms, a training room, a wrestling room, and a weight room were designed and constructed. Furthermore, a kitchen and commons area was included that can be accessed from both the new and existing gymnasium, providing a convenient and versatile space for various school events.

This renovation and expansion project has allowed us to create a more modern, functional, and inclusive learning environment for our students, fostering their educational growth and success. We are proud of the collaborative effort that went into making this project a reality and are excited about the opportunities it presents for our community.
